JCCP Restricts Injectables to Healthcare Professionals

August 15, 2018

On 3rd August 2018 the registered charity and regulatory Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP)  restricted entry to its register for non-healthcare practitioners who wish to register at Level 7 for injectables and fillers. Major change in policy, reflects concerns raised at all levels and across the sector of the risks with injectables by non-HCPs.

Fantastic news that Beauty therapists injecting cosmetic treatments are NOT recognised or supported by the UK medical specialities or the government. We are one step closer to mandatory regulation to stop them practicing altogether as per all other countries in the world!

I am an avid supporter of Safety in Beauty and this is what they said about this decision.

I feel this is a step in the right direction to keep aesthetics medical, I feel the skillset you need to perform procedures and manage complications comes naturally to medical professionals, and although neauty therapists are great within their own field I feel this is a field for clinicians only.
